Your first project should be a short, 3-5 minute musical/sound score of a "fixed media" selection.  For most students this will be a scence or clip from a longer film.  Some are producing the images/film themselves or in collaboration with others within and/or beyond class. Recall, too, that our class was provided with several short clips by Marilyn Rivchin in the film department.  Those two clips are available on the network drive under "Music_3421-->Materials".  They include some dialog and even ambient sounds but no music.  Both present interesting challenges for us.

If you are in need of a source beyond these, feel free to consult Professor Ernste or one of the TA's for suggestions or help.

We will present the resulting short films/scores in class on March the 11th as a "showcase", running the films one after the other.  We will discuss proper formats and other considerations for this showcase in class on Wednesday the 4th of March.
