A major focus in many of these areas, and one that has informed them all, is an involvement with Javanese Gamelan. One of the leading non-Javanese performers of traditional Javanese music, Miller plays regularly with ensembles in New England and New York.<\/p>\n<p>Holding an Masters Degree from Wesleyan University, his thesis project was a performance\/installation for Javanese Gamelan instruments and other sound sources (CDs of prerecorded material, amplified bottles).
