Project 1 - Jesse Pearce

Here is my Project 1 attached as an mp3. I didn't get to share it in class. It's based around some acoustic guitar samples I recorded in the studio. Everything else is from the sound file library or freesound.org. I actually hit a bum note in one of the guitar parts. I couldn't get back into the studio to re-record it, so I just did my best to disguise it. You can decide for yourself how well it works.

On future projects, I'd like to collaborate with a drummer or someone who knows a lot about creating drum beats. That way, I can have fully fleshed out beats and fills in my projects, rather than the sparse snare hits and cymbal crashes you hear in this one.

I agree with the above

I agree with the above comment - very cool piece! I like how the song changes pace a few times, which makes it quite engaging. As for the drums, if you can't find a drummer then there are a number of programs you could try out -- I use FL Studio to synthesize drums (as well as several other instruments) and I find it quite decent.  I heard Cubase is pretty good too.

neat song!  I thought the back-and-forth panning techniques at certain points of the song were kind of intriguing (really pulled the attention of the listener back to the instrumentals), and almost seemed to affect the pattern of the music itself in an interesting manner.  I liked the guitar, too; cool piece!
