On the ECMC SGI systems, all input files to SCORE11 are
first preprocessed by the m4 macro utility of UNIX, then run through
SCORE11. The Eastman utility m4orch can be used to perform similar macro
preprocessing on Csound orchestra files.
At the ECMC, however, we have changed the quote characters of the UNIX
m4 program to "[" and "]" instead of "`" and "'".
If you are using the Eastman preprocessing music software programs, be sure
to use the quote characters [ and ].
But, if you want to use the standard UNIX m4, use ` and ' .
