Reason likes to take over

Reason likes to "own" the device.  Try going into Reason's preferences and turning off the O2.  If Live is fine after this, you know Reason is blocking the device.  You can route the synth to Reason from within Live via a new MIDI channel.

You may have to go into the

You may have to go into the Live preferences in the Midi/sync pane and make sure that your external controller is "on" as a remote input.

Also, if you are using Reason rewired to Live, you may actually have to turn off the external controller in the Reason preference pane to get it to work in Live.
