Two questions...

okay professor, maybe these questions are silly but they're important for me anyway.

1) why does audacity keep "unexpectedly quitting" on me?
2) why can't I seem to hand in the project? I put it in the alias folder, then put it in the folder with my NetID, and when I try to open it, it says it can't read it.

BTW I'm in studio D.

I got audacity to crash by trying directly double clicking an AUP file rather than opening it from within the program.

Questions

Thanks for posting.

I'm not sure why Audacity is crashing.  Does it do so in response to a particluar command or action (recording, playing, editing, saving, etc)?  I would be interested to hear others experiences, especially in Studio D where Mark is having these problems.  Here are some things to try:

1) Try saving temporarily to a different file or even a different location, say the Desktop.  It may be that you have a corrupted file.

2) Try exporting the entire file as a wav file and then opening it again in a new window in Audacity.

I just logged into the machine in D and ran some remote maintainance jobs on the disk with the hope that it might help.

As far as saving, you say it will not open the file you saved in the Music 120 sound folder.  Is this file an audio file (.wav) or an Audacity file (.aup)?  I just tried to look for it and didn't see anything.

I will be in the chatbox for the next few minutes also if you like.

odd...

1) It seems to crash when I try to paste something.
2) It's an aup file. I didn't save it to a folder, I'd saved it temporarily on the desktop. I tried moving it to the folder and opening it there, but it didn't seem to work there.
