I would say something pretentious and say that it's "meta-music" or something, but...

It's music because it can be apperceived by the faculty and assessed with the aesthetic structures most often associated with processing internally consistent arrangements of sound frequencies. "Most often" means that we also use those conceptual frameworks to describe and categorize non-audio phenomena, such as the flavors of a bite of food (harmonious, discordant, etc.), the flow of imagery in a short story, etc.

In other words, it's cool and I like it. Bad things happen when you try to be too technical about it :)
