We talked about this in class together, but for other's benefit:

Unlike Cubase, there is no direct audio input into Reason.  You have to record or aquire the audio as a .wav or .aiff format (exported from Audacity, for example) and then load it into any one of Reason's samplers (NN-19. N-XT, etc).  The sample is then "played" in Reason either directly with the keyboard or by a sequencer track or other seqencing device (like the Matrix).
