Hi!
Hello!
My name is Brian and been making electronic music on an amateur level for quite some time with the name MetaMusician. I have become rather familiar with cubase sx but I have had no experience with Reason (yet!). I'm really excited about the midi possibilities of Reason- it makes assigning functions to a controller so simple (great for live performance).
I make hip-hop and electronica and and a bit of electro-indie pop with my Roland RS-70 and SH-32 ( the latter of which has analog modeling and is quite fun to mess around with). Some of my stuff can be found Here (myspace). And I'm a little timid to post my oldest (i.e. first and worst) creations after seeing all the talent that you guys have, but there are a few songs that I had a grand time making, like "Oj".
I am intereseted in making all sorts of music, but my ideal would be something full of The Faint-esque distorted leads and bass lines. Or perhaps some Madlib or RJD2 inspired hip-hop, or some Matmos/ Four Tet caliber sampling and sequencing. Or even some good old fashioned IDM breakbeat craziness a la Squarepusher, Aphex, or Venetian snares... The possibilities are endless, and those artists have all created songs that resonant with the type of music I would ideally like to extend from.
