Annie Lewandowski – Prepared piano; electronics

Annie Lewandowski was born and raised in the Midwest and now lives in Ithaca, New York. She writes songs under the name powerdove. Her first band, Emma Zunz, recorded their self-titled debut album for Tellous in 2006. She has also recorded with Hawnay Troof (Islands of Ayle, 2008), The Curtains (David Shrigley’s Worried Noodles, 2007), and Xiu Xiu (Tu mi piaci, 2006), and toured the US and the UK as a member of The Curtains in 2006. Powerdove’s first album, “Be Mine,” was released on Circle into Square Records in 2011.

As an improviser on the piano and accordion, Annie has recorded with Doublends Vert (Cistern, 2006; s/t, 2004), Caroline Kraabel (In the Garden City, 2009), Fred Frith (Long as in Short, Walk as in Run; 2011), and the London Improviser’s Orchestra (Improvisations for George Riste, 2008), and has performed with Sylvia Hallett, Robert Stillman, Jennifer Pike, John Edwards, John Butcher, Chris Cutler, Charles Hayward, Evan Parker, the London Improviser’s Orchestra and others.
