Music 6420/4420: Electroacoustic Techniques

Course Description:

Intended principally for doctoral students in music composition but open to others by permission. The course presents a practical overview of both classical and state-of-the-art techniques for computer music including digital synthesis, signal processing and sound manipulation, analysis and re-synthesis, spatialization, and real-time and/or interactive applications. Students will produce several short project pieces as well as one larger piece to be performed at the semester’s end.
